Cabo San Lucas

We picked a perfect week to go to the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas (or Land’s End, at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula): the first week of December, before the Christmas rush and when the weather is not too hot.  The hotel was quiet, the gorgeous infinity pools nearly deserted, and the service impeccable. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and a couple of trips to the village itself, but otherwised relaxed and read for the bulk of the week.

Marc did go on a day trip to the bay of La Paz, where he went swimming with whale sharks …  These “gentle giants” measure an average of 30 feet and weigh around 20,000 pounds, but the ones Marc swan with were “only” 20 to 25 feet long …
